It was a wet weekend for the local environmental event, but while wading through mud the colour of runny honey and the consistency of treacle I saw the basket maker’s stall – the very one that offers courses nearby. The baskets looked good although it seems you have to sit on the floor to do the weaving. I couldn’t see any details of the courses on the stall and was far too shy to ask in front of the assembled throngs of people but I can do all that through the website. I was however INSPIRED and will definitely build a daycourse at the very least into my programme.
Intentions currently stand at German beginners x 2, basket weaving, passing the OU exam, a sample of U3A and one of the Field Studies Council’s residential courses. However, I’m determined to experience challenge and discomfort which in my case means ART or something really touchy feely or hard sums. Still thinking about how much challenge I can tolerate and which particular brand to suffer.
